ここに「いき」の
ちよん介という
者がいる。
将来の
ことを
思い、うとうととまどろんでいるうちに、
うちかけ姿の聖王
坊の絵から抜け出て、無中
にことばを交わし給う。
「ぜんざい、ぜんざい、われは
これ、なんじが
家の調鬼と秘蔵されるけれど、
今まで何の役にも立たず、
せめてものことに、なんじが信願
成就のため、この桃を与えるの
である。味わって
寿命を
保って
世のありさまを
見よ。」

While thinking about
future
matters
and dozing drowsily,
from a painting of a holy king (seiō)
in court robes, [a figure] emerges and
speaks wordlessly to him.
"Zenzai, zenzai! I am
one who is treasured as
a tutelary spirit of your
house, but until now have been of no use whatsoever.
As a small token, for the fulfillment
of your sincere願
I bestow this peach upon you.
Taste it and
preserve your
lifespan
to observe
the state of the world."
