現代語訳
「傍痛き諫言だて。我は万乗の主となり、頼朝を討ち滅ぼすに何の手間暇要らん。兼平、今より勘当じゃ。立って失せい！」
「平家を滅ぼし君を補佐し、御代長久国家安泰の評定はなぜなされぬ。浅ましや我が君、この企てが鎌倉へ聞こえなば頼朝がお捨て置き給わんや。義経、蒲殿を攻め上らせ、平家の身の上のごとく滅び給わんは明白也」と、ともすれば阿り諂う佞臣共の言葉に乗せられ、木前の災いが御眼にははからぞや。

英語訳
"What painful remonstrance, Date! I shall become the sovereign lord of ten thousand chariots and destroy Yoritomo without any trouble or time required. Kanehira, from now you are banished! Stand up and begone!"
"Why do you not hold council to destroy the Taira, assist your lord, and ensure the long duration of your reign and the peace of the realm? Alas, my lord, if this plot reaches Kamakura, will Yoritomo leave it be? He will send Yoshitsune and Kaba-dono to attack, and you will surely perish just like the Taira." Yet [Yoshinaka] has been swayed by the words of those sycophantic retainers who constantly flatter and fawn, and the disaster before his eyes remains unseen.
