他所取扱幷医者師近方江礼物遣之外之親
類縁者堂りといふとも祝儀愁事之音
信を者し免餞別土産物等無用尓致すへし
但親子兄弟の可多へ軽き品相送り候儀ハ可為
次第事
一 諸道具之事
武具之儀身上相応尓相嗜其外ハ当分家
事之 さる物有相求候儀一切可為無用事
婚礼之事
前々定有之候へ共此以後諸事成次第種々
致し祝儀物舅婿の間斗取扱ひ當日迄尓
相仕廻後日の振廻等可為無用事
一 法事之事
現代語訳
物肴は無用とすべし。夜に及ぶ節も同様とすべし。もっとも酒宴は
堅く禁止すること。

江戸在勤中、何れも参上の儀はなおさら軽微にし、種々作事場より
客を得ることがあっても、定めに応じて軽く饗応すべきこと
一 音物の事
他所との取り扱い並びに医者・師匠方への礼物を遣わす以外の親
類縁者等といっても、祝儀・愁事の音
信を遣わすこと、餞別・土産物等は無用にすべし。
ただし親子兄弟の間では軽い品を相送りする儀は
差し支えないこと
一 諸道具の事
武具の儀は身上相応に相嗜むべし。その他は当分家に
ある物で間に合わせ、新たに求める儀は一切無用とすること
一 婚礼の事
以前より定めがあったが、今後諸事成り行き次第とし、種々
の祝儀物は舅・婿の間のみで取り扱い、当日までに
済ませ、後日の振る舞い等は無用とすること

During residence in Edo, all visits should be even more modest, and even when receiving
various guests from construction sites and such, hospitality should be light in accordance with the regulations.
1. Regarding gifts
Except for礼物 (ceremonial gifts) sent in dealings with outsiders, doctors, and teachers, even for other
relatives and in-laws, sending gifts for
celebrations or condolences, farewell gifts, souvenirs, etc. shall be unnecessary.
However, sending light items between
parents, children, and siblings is acceptable.
1. Regarding various implements
As for weapons, one should maintain them appropriately according to one's station. For all else, make do with what the household
currently possesses, and acquiring new items shall be entirely unnecessary.
1. Regarding weddings
Though there were previous regulations, henceforth all matters shall be handled simply, with various
ceremonial gifts handled only between father-in-law and son-in-law, completed by
the day of the ceremony, and post-ceremony entertainment shall be unnecessary.
