江戸表江被指出之今日福井出立
一 十二月十六日在々欠落者多有之ニ付金津奉行郡奉行江御家
老岡部左膳起平左之通書付を以申渡之
覚
在々ゟ此間欠落仕者有之由相聞候此上ニも又候
左様之者も出来申候而ハ如何成儀候間如何様之
様子ニ而右之通之儀候哉面々支配下吟味可仕儀候
組頭共江も其段申 付候而此以後左様之体無之様
如何様共急度申付様も可有之儀候間各申談
可被申付候上下之口留江も面々組之者差出置幷
大勢欠落仕候筋之組頭歟又ハ相応之者も可有
之候間左様之者なと差遣置此以後欠落仕体
之者も有之候ハヽ差留申様ニ致し可然候此段
何も申談宜取捌可被申候

江戸表へ派遣し、今日福井を出立した
一 十二月十六日、在郷で欠落者（逃亡者）が多くいることにつき、金津奉行・郡奉行へ御家
老岡部左膳起平が以下の通り書付をもって申し渡した
覚
在郷からこの間欠落した者がいるとのことを聞いております。この上にもまた
そのような者が出てきてはいかがなものでしょうか。どのような
様子でそのような事が起こるのか、面々の支配下を吟味すべき事であります。
組頭らへもその旨申し付けて、この以後そのような体たらくが無いよう
どのようにしても厳重に申し付けることもあるでしょうから、各々申し談じて
申し付けなさい。上下の口留にも面々の組の者を差し出し置き、並びに
大勢欠落した筋の組頭或いは相応の者もいるでしょうから
そのような者などを差し遣わし置き、この以後欠落するような
者もいるならば差し留めるようにして然るべきです。この段
何れも申し談じてよく取り捌きなさい。

One On December 16th, due to many deserters in the rural areas, through senior retainer Okabe Sazen Kihei, the following written directive was issued to the Kanazu magistrate and district magistrate:
Memorandum
We have heard that there have been deserters from the rural areas during this time. If more such
persons should appear, what kind of situation would that be? In what manner
do such things occur? Each official should investigate those under his jurisdiction.
Order the group leaders as well in this matter, so that hereafter there will be no such misconduct.
Whatever the means, strict orders may be issued, so each should consult together and
issue orders accordingly. For the border checkpoints above and below, station men from each group, and
there are probably group leaders from areas where many have deserted, or other appropriate persons,
so dispatch such persons and station them there. Hereafter, if there are any who would
desert, it would be proper to detain them. Regarding this matter,
all should consult together and handle it well.
