同五年四月八日、富士山が噴火し、近隣の国々で地震が起きた。
同六年六月二十六日、仙台領で大地震があり、城塁等が大破し、海辺では大津波により民家数百軒が流失し、死者の数は知れず。

2nd day of the 7th month of Tenpō 1 (era name changed in the 12th month): A great earthquake struck Kyoto, causing damage to the Imperial Palace, Nijō Castle, as well as shrines and temples. Tremors continued dozens of times both day and night until the 20th day of the 8th month.
5th year of the same era [Tenpō 5], 8th day of the 4th month: Mount Fuji erupted, and earthquakes struck neighboring provinces.
6th year of the same era [Tenpō 6], 26th day of the 6th month: A great earthquake struck the Sendai domain, causing major damage to castle fortifications and other structures. A great tsunami along the coast swept away several hundred houses, and the death toll was beyond count.
3rd year of Kōka [possibly 4th year], 24th day of the 3rd month: A great earthquake struck Shinshū (Shinano Province), causing houses to collapse and be crushed. Fires broke out in various places, and the number of human and animal deaths was beyond count. The places particularly hard hit at this time were: first, Iiyama; second, Matsushiro; third, Suzaka; fourth, Ueda; fifth, Matsumoto; sixth, Taka(ta)…
