on Ryōgoku Bridge.
At this time, the Sanjūsangen-dō
(Hall of Thirty-Three Bays) collapsed. From the night
of the 24th day, rain fell, and
by dawn the trembling ceased.

O earthly deity (Kunitsukami),
Even the rocks of a thousand ages
you have shaken and set firm—
Let this be
an example of a reign
