の画を見るかことに見えしかは其世の春に名たゝる山也といへり駒形の御嶽（ミタケ）は駒形の神山
にして春の末夏の初めに雪またらに消行こ
ろ其雪にて馬家（コマカタ）のあらはるゝをとてしか山の
名におへりまた此出羽の今の山本￣ノ郡 上津野荘（カミツノノサウ）
にも駒箇岳（コマカタケ）ありこれも雪の駒形也そをもて糟（カス）
毛《割書：本霞｜毛也》ヶ（か）嶽とも云ひ麓の郷名（ムラナ）にも云へる也此村
より白糟毛（シラカスケ）なる駿馬（ウマ）産（イテ）たるより此邑名ありと

は出羽陸奥みな駒形￣ノ荘（サウ）とむかしはもはらいひ

The sacred peak of Komagata is a divine mountain of Komagata, and in the period from late spring to early summer when the snow melts away in patches, the form of a horse (komagata) appears in that snow—and thus the mountain bears that name. Furthermore, in what is now Yamagoto District, Kamitsuno Estate, in Dewa Province, there is also a Mount Komagatake, and this too has a snow horse-shape. For this reason it is also called Kasugemo-dake (originally written "霞毛," meaning dapple-grey), and this name is also used for the village at its foot. The area around the foot of the sacred peak of Koma in Mutsu Province was, in both Dewa and Mutsu, commonly called Komagata Estate in former times, and the people at the foot of the mountain make a pilgrimage to this Mount Okoma every year.
