駒形岳に仙人がいて、その神仙がいらっしゃるということで、山北を仙北の文字に書き改めたと言われている。駒ヶ岳に今も神仙がいて、そこを仙人権現とも申し上げて、その神を各所に遷し奉るということである。その仙人というのは常陸坊海存である。時として杣山の木こり等は見たことがあるとも言っている。また『清悦物語』に言う、「義経の御行方云々、御葬礼は大蔵殿御在所三迫の内沼倉に定められて、義経の御亡骸を神輿にて、頼朝が御騎馬にて、その様子を美しく枕まで御供である弁慶、鈴木兄弟、佐藤三郎義信、同四郎義忠、

みちのく南部に仙人峠という山があって、出羽国平鹿郡筏という山里に仙人権現の社がある。その由来ははっきりしない。

兼房、以上十人の亡骸も判官殿の御葬送と同じく行い終えて、頼朝は御上りになった。七月九日御上洛があって、頼朝が征夷大将軍となられ、十月二十五日に帰られて、文治五年己酉七月十九日、将軍頼朝がこの平泉に再び出発された。その軍勢二十八万四千余騎、これは秀衡の子孫を誅罰するためである。錦戸太郎は九月三日に斬られ、仙北は捕らえられた。将軍の御命令があって、なぜこの奥州の一党は頼朝に敵対して三十日のうちに戦いを仕掛けないのかと御使いを以て問わせられた。

There is a hermit sage on Mount Komagata, and because this divine hermit resides there, it is said that "Sanhoku" (mountain north) was rewritten with the characters for "Senboku" (hermit north). Even now there is a divine hermit on Mount Komagatake, and this place is also called Sennin Gongen, with this deity being enshrined in various locations. This hermit is Hitachibō Kaison. Occasionally, mountain woodcutters and others say they have seen him. Also, the "Seietsu Monogatari" states: "Concerning Yoshitsune's fate... his funeral was determined to be held at Numakura within Samnohazama, the residence of Lord Ōkura. Yoshitsune's remains were carried in a portable shrine, with Yoritomo on horseback, and the scene was beautiful up to the pillow. The retainers accompanying him were Benkei, the Suzuki brothers, Satō Saburō Yoshinobu, and Satō Shirō Yoshitada,

In southern Michinoku there is a mountain called Sennin Pass, and in the mountain village of Ikada in Hiraka District of Dewa Province, there is a shrine to Sennin Gongen. The reason for this is unclear.

Kanefusa - these ten people's remains were also treated the same as Judge Yoshitsune's funeral, and after completing this, Yoritomo departed. On the 9th day of the 7th month he went up to the capital, Yoritomo became Seii Taishōgun, and returned on the 25th day of the 10th month. On the 19th day of the 7th month of Bunji 5 (1189), General Yoritomo set out again for this Hiraizumi. His forces numbered 284,000 cavalry - this was to punish the descendants of Hidehira. Nishikido Tarō was killed on the 3rd day of the 9th month, and Senboku was captured. The General issued orders asking through messengers why this Mutsu faction had not engaged in battle within thirty days of opposing Yoritomo.
