狩（かり）をくわだて
頼朝（よりとも）を慰（なぐさめ）し

七尺 余（あま）りの大 石（いし）
あり俣野（またの）五郎
景久（かげひさ）力（ちから）ぢまん
にて此石 妨（さまたけ）と

この図は
関東の
諸侍が奥の
狩りを企画して
頼朝を慰めた
時に、柏が
峠で
酒宴の折、
座中に
七尺余りの大石が
あり、俣野五郎
景久が力自慢で
この石を邪魔だと
【左丁】
引っ掴んで谷へ捨てようと
したところへ真田の
与一という者が来た。
俣野が与一に石を
投げかけたのを、与一に言葉を
かけて投げかけたのを、
与一も大力の
者で、途中で
抱えて投げ返した
ところである。
与一はこの時
生年十六
歳であった
ということ
である。

【In corner-cut frame】Matano no Gorō
This illustration depicts
when the various samurai
of the Kantō region organized
a hunt in the mountains
to comfort Yoritomo.
At Kashiwa
Pass,
during a drinking party,
there was a large stone
over seven shaku in size
in their midst. Matano no Gorō
Kagehisa, boasting of his strength,
[said] this stone was in the way and

grabbed it to throw it into the valley.
Just then, a man called
Sanada no Yoichi arrived.
When Matano threw the stone
at Yoichi, calling out to
Yoichi as he threw it,
Yoichi, also being a man
of great strength, caught it
mid-flight and threw it back.
This is that scene.
Yoichi at this time
was sixteen
years of age,
it is said.
