一、四月十七日、右同断につき御機嫌を伺うため惣出仕となり、御登城
一、同月二十日、御老中連名の御切紙をもって、東叡山火之御番の佐竹右京太夫《義峯》殿の御代を仰せ蒙り、その御礼のため御老中を御廻勤された。
但し、御代替わり後初めてのことにつき御廻勤。
一、五月朔日、御登城にて御礼が済み、御居残りになっていたところ（昨晦日に大目付中より廻状をもって申し来たり）、御老中列座の御用番本多伯耆守《正珍》殿より以下の通り御達しがあった。
去る月十六日の二の丸火事の節、手明き（非番）であったにもかかわらず、早速御機嫌を伺いに参上され、その上人数等を差し出されたところ、上聞に達し相届きました。御機嫌よく思し召されております旨。
右が済み、その御礼のため西丸へ御登城され、御奏者番永井伊賀守殿に謁見された後、御退出の折に御老中・若年寄中を御廻勤された。
一、同月二十六日、御使者として御留守居の津田九右衛門《盛恕》をもって、御国仕立ての御馬一疋（坂井郡重義村仕立て、越後国高田出）を献上され、御用番本多伯耆守《正珍》殿の御指図によって、諏訪部文右衛門殿がお預かりになり御厩へ納められた。
一、同月二十九日、御老中堀田相模守《正亮》殿より、昨二十八日に御留守居が御呼び出しを受け、翌日御出になるよう御達しがあったため、九時に相模守殿のもとへ御出になったところ、御国許への御暇の節に御仮養子に及ばない旨を仰せ出された件は、刑部卿《宗尹》様の御沙（汰）

1. On April 17th, for the same reason as above, all retainers were called to attend to inquire about the well-being [of the lords], and [the lord] went to the castle.
1. On the 20th of the same month, through a written notice jointly signed by the Senior Councilors, [the lord] was entrusted with serving as proxy for Satake Ukyo-no-daibu 《Yoshimine》, who was serving as fire watch at Tōeizan [Kan'eiji Temple]. [The lord] made the rounds to the Senior Councilors to pay respects for this appointment.
Note: As this was the first time after the change of proxy, a full round of courtesy visits was made.
1. On the 1st day of the 5th month, after completing the ceremonial greetings at the castle and while remaining in attendance (as notified the previous day by a circular from the Grand Inspectors), Senior Councilor and Duty Magistrate Honda Hōki-no-kami 《Masayoshi》 conveyed the following message:
During the fire at the Ninomaru on the 16th of last month, although [the lord] was off duty, he promptly came to inquire about [the shogun's] well-being and additionally dispatched personnel. This matter has been reported to and reached the ears of [the shogun], and it is understood that [the shogun] was pleased.
After this was completed, [the lord] went to the Western Citadel (Nishinomaru) to pay respects, had an audience with the Chamberlain Nagai Iga-no-kami, and upon departing made the rounds to the Senior Councilors and Junior Councilors.
1. On the 26th of the same month, through messenger and castle caretaker Tsuda Kuemon 《Morihiro》, one horse bred in the domain (raised in Shigeyo Village, Sakai District, originating from Takada in Echigo Province) was presented [to the shogunate]. Under the direction of Duty Magistrate Honda Hōki-no-kami 《Masayoshi》, it was received by Suwabe Bunemon and stabled in the official stables.
1. On the 29th of the same month, Senior Councilor Hotta Sagami-no-kami 《Masasuke》 had summoned the castle caretaker on the 28th and instructed [the lord] to appear the following day. Accordingly, [the lord] went to Sagami-no-kami's residence at the 9th hour (around noon), where he was told that the decree issued during [the lord's] leave to return to his domain — stating that a provisional adoption was not necessary — was a matter decided by Gyōbukyō 《Muneyasu》...
