旧幕の御時代にも盛なりし茶道にしあれば
今度戴きたる温故帳の題号より古事
の部中に綴りて出さんとす
希は千家遠州薮の内夫々流儀の差
別あるも折々無懈怠会席を催し伝歌
俳諧書画等の例と等しく由緒の物品
莚席へ持出し台筒風呂棚四方
丸香台や小卓等に飾りて人に展覧し
永々茶道の盛ならん事を
但
平常之稽古は酒飯を禁し折々会席之
料理出すも驕奢に成ては永続せす
膳中之献立も麁末を主とし余興之
馳走は無論にして引居取肴もなくて
可ならん
一尚追々宗匠家之姓名又変化之次第
あらは書継之事
現代語訳
旧幕府の御時代にも盛んであった茶道であるから、
今度いただいた温故帳の題号より古事
の部中に綴って出そうとするのである。
願わくは千家・遠州・薮内それぞれ流派の違い
はあるが、時折怠ることなく会席を催し、伝歌・
俳諧・書画等の例と同じく由緒ある品物を
席へ持ち出し、台・筒・風呂・棚・四方・
丸・香台や小卓等に飾って人に展覧し、
永く茶道が盛んであることを願う。
ただし
平常の稽古は酒食を禁じ、時折会席の
料理を出すのも奢侈になっては永続しない。
膳中の献立も粗末を主とし、余興の
馳走は無論のこと、引肴・取肴もなくて
よいであろう。
一 なお追々宗匠家の姓名また変化の次第が
あれば書き継ぐこと
英語訳
Since tea ceremony was also flourishing during the era of the former shogunate,
I intend to compile and present this material in the section on ancient matters
under the title of the "Onko-chō" (Chronicle of Cherishing the Past) that I have received.
I hope that although there are differences among the respective schools of Senke, Enshū, and Yabunouchi,
they will occasionally hold gatherings without negligence, and like the examples of classical poetry,
haiku, calligraphy and painting, bring items of historical significance
to the tea席, display them on stands, cylinders, furo braziers, shelves, square tables,
round tables, incense stands, and small tables for people to view,
so that the tea ceremony may flourish for a long time.
However
In regular practice, alcohol and food should be prohibited, and even when occasionally serving
cuisine at gatherings, if it becomes extravagant, it will not continue permanently.
The menu arrangements should primarily be simple, and needless to say for entertainment
feasts, even hiki-zakana and tori-zakana side dishes need not be present.
One Furthermore, if there are changes in the names of tea master families
in the future, they should be recorded in succession.
