一負ふた子に教られて浅瀬を渡るとはむかし
よりのいろはたとへ又人に強かち深切なるを
老婆心と言へるに老父に右等之沙汰なきは
如何成故か却而頑固旧弊抔と嫌われ方に
老人六歌仙
皺かよるほくろは出来る背はちゝむ
天窓は兀る毛は白ふなる
手はふるふ足はよろつく歯はぬける
耳はとふなる目はうとふなる

背負った子に教えられて浅瀬を渡るとは昔
からのいろは譬え、また人に情け深く親切なのを
老婆心と言うのに、老父にはそのような気遣いがないのは
どういう理由だろうか。かえって頑固で古い慣習にとらわれるなどと嫌われがちである
老人六歌仙
皺が寄る、ほくろはできる、背は縮む
頭は禿げる、毛は白くなる
手は震える、足はよろめく、歯は抜ける
耳は遠くなる、目は見えにくくなる

Story of the Elderly
Learning from a child on one's back how to cross shallow waters - this is
an age-old teaching metaphor. Also, when people are compassionate and kind,
we call it "an old woman's heart," but why is it that old men
lack such consideration? Instead, they tend to be disliked for being stubborn and bound to old customs.

Wrinkles appear, moles develop, the back shrinks
The head goes bald, hair turns white
Hands tremble, feet stumble, teeth fall out
Ears grow deaf, eyes grow dim
