一 御代替付而先例之通琉球国中山王より
以使者御祝儀為申上度旨松平薩摩守
相伺之右使者之儀従先祖参勤之節召連之候
先御代始ニも彼使者父薩摩守召連参府
仕付而今度も来夏参府之節琉球之
使者可召連之諸事可為如先例旨年寄共

宝永六年（1709年）三月
一、将軍の代替わりに際して先例の通り、琉球国中山王より使者を以って御祝儀を申し上げたい旨を、松平薩摩守が伺いを立てた。この使者の件について、先祖の代から参勤の際に同行させていた慣例があり、前の将軍の代始めにも、その使者の父を薩摩守が同行させて参府したことがある。そのため今度も来年夏の参府の際に琉球の使者を同行させることとし、諸事は先例の通りとする旨を年寄共（老中）が決定した。

Hōei 6th year (1709), 3rd month
Item: Regarding the succession of the shogun, in accordance with precedent, the King of Chūzan of the Ryukyu Kingdom wished to present congratulations through an envoy, for which Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami submitted a formal inquiry. Concerning this envoy, there has been a long-standing custom of bringing them along during sankin (alternate attendance) since the time of his ancestors. At the beginning of the previous shogun's reign as well, Satsuma-no-kami brought the father of this envoy to participate in the visit to Edo. Therefore, this time too, it was decided by the rōjū (senior councilors) that a Ryukyuan envoy should accompany the next summer's visit to Edo, and all matters should follow precedent.
