然は中山王継目之節は使者差上之継目之
御礼前々より申上来付而此度も以使者

六月
一、松平薩摩守が琉球人を同行させて参府する件について、中山王の使者が到着してから同行させるべきか、あるいは例年の時節に参府し、その使者については到着次第家来の者共を付き添わせて参府させるべきか、この二つの選択肢について薩摩守が書付を以って伺いを立てた。これに対し、家来を同行させて参府すべきであり、参勤を延期することは差し支えない旨が仰せ出された。
十二月
一、中山王が当年夏に死去したため、嫡孫に相続させた。中山王の継目の際には使者を差し上げるのが慣例であり、継目の御礼は前々から申し上げてきているため、この度も使者を以って御礼を申し上げたい旨を願い出た。その通り書面を仰せ付けられるならば、御代替わりに際して差し上げた使者と同様に扱われることとなる。

Item: Regarding Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami bringing Ryukyuan people for his visit to Edo, [he inquired] whether the King of Chūzan's envoy should accompany him after their arrival, or whether he should proceed with his regular seasonal visit to Edo while having the envoy accompanied by retainers upon their arrival. Satsuma-no-kami submitted a formal inquiry regarding these two options through a written document. It was declared that retainers should accompany [the envoy] for the visit to Edo, and that postponing the sankin attendance would be acceptable.
12th month
Item: As the King of Chūzan died this summer, his legitimate grandson was made to succeed him. When there is a succession of the King of Chūzan, it has been customary to send an envoy, and congratulatory礼 for succession has been presented since ancient times. Therefore, this time too, a request was made to present congratulations through an envoy. If this is to be approved through official documentation, it would be treated the same as the envoy sent for the shogunal succession.
