　息思亭說云琉球天使館自門而入正堂三間自正
　堂引至書房三間余處於東李君際春處於西房之
　後再三間官舎輩處之兩旁翼以廊房各六間門書
　輿皂寓焉暑月蘊隆琉之人爲余卜後垣空地砌土
　瓦茅竪柱而亭之余因扁曰息思以咏以歌庶忘其
　身之在異鄕巳
　天使館堂舊名灑露萬暦四年冊使蕭崇業有灑露
　堂說云使館故有匾弗稱唐人云海東萬里灑扶桑
　意在懷遠也余以灑露名之副使謝杰記云灑露堂

現代語訳

息思亭說に云う、「琉球天使館は門より入ると正堂三間があり、正堂より引いて書房三間に至る。余は東に処し、李君際春は西に処す。房の後に再び三間あり、官舎輩がこれに処す。両旁は廊房各六間を以て翼とし、門書輿皂がそこに宿る。暑月は蘊隆し、琉の人が余の為に後垣の空地を卜し、土瓦茅を砌き柱を竪ててこれを亭とした。余は因って『息思』と扁し、以て詠じ以て歌い、庶わくはその身の異郷に在ることを忘れんとした」と。

天使館堂は旧名を灑露と言った。万暦四年の冊使蕭崇業に灑露堂說があり、云う「使館故より匾有るも称せず。唐人云う『海東万里灑扶桑』と、意は懐遠に在り。余は灑露を以てこれを名づく」と。副使謝杰の記に云う「灑露堂とは天使館の堂なり。諫議蕭使公の斯の堂を名づくる所以なり」と。

臣葆光按ずるに、此の二条は当に旧使館中に在るべし。今匾は廃れ亭は圯れ、皆考うべからず。郭記に云う「門より入りて正堂三間」とあるを就けば、今の旧院大門内即ち大堂にして儀門無きこと、居然として知るべきなり。

天使館には日に都通事一員、紅帕秀才二十人が輪番で門に値し、指使を聞き候う。

天使館旁の支応は分けて七司を設く。一に館務司、館中の大小応行事件を掌る。一に承応所、館中の修葺物件家伙等の事を掌る。一に掌牲所、羊豕鶏鴨の支送等の事を掌る。一に供応所、館中の酒米を掌る。

英語訳

The Record of Sixi Pavilion states: "In the Ryukyu Imperial Envoy Residence, upon entering through the gate there is a main hall of three bays, and from the main hall one proceeds to the study of three bays. I resided in the east, and Master Li Jichun resided in the west. Behind the rooms there are another three bays where the official attendants reside. Both sides are flanked by corridor rooms of six bays each, where the clerks, palanquin bearers, and servants lodge. During the hot months when the heat was oppressive, the Ryukyu people divined an empty space behind the rear wall for me, built up earth and tiles with thatch, erected pillars and made it into a pavilion. I therefore inscribed it 'Sixi' (Resting Thoughts), composing poems and songs there, hoping to forget that I was in a foreign land."

The hall of the Imperial Envoy Residence was formerly named "Sailu" (Sprinkling Dew). In the fourth year of Wanli, investiture envoy Xiao Chongye wrote a "Record of Sailu Hall," saying: "The embassy originally had a plaque but it was not properly designated. The Tang people say 'Ten thousand li across the eastern sea, sprinkling the land of Fusang' - the meaning lies in embracing the distant. I name it with 'Sailu.'" Vice-envoy Xie Jie's record states: "Sailu Hall is the hall of the Imperial Envoy Residence. This is what Remonstrance Official Envoy Xiao named this hall."

Minister Baoguang notes: These two records should belong to the old embassy. Now the plaques have deteriorated and the pavilion has collapsed, making verification impossible. Based on Guo's record stating "entering through the gate to a main hall of three bays," it is clear that inside the main gate of the current old courtyard is immediately the main hall with no ceremonial gate.

At the Imperial Envoy Residence, daily there is one chief interpreter and twenty red-sashed scholars who take turns on duty at the gate, awaiting instructions.

The support services beside the Imperial Envoy Residence are divided into seven offices: First, the Residence Affairs Office, which manages all major and minor matters requiring action within the residence. Second, the Reception Office, which manages repairs, furnishings, and household items for the residence. Third, the Livestock Office, which manages the provision of sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, etc. Fourth, the Supply Office, which manages wine and rice for the residence.
