三倉島より八丈島へ渡る洋中に黒瀬川といって急流の瀬があり、船人の難所とする所である。図を見て知るべし。
島々大小すべて八十九山がある。その中、大島二つ、中島四つ、小島四つ。この十島は土地が広く草木が多く、所々に平地があって人が居住できる。その余の七十余島は岩石険峻の小島であるから、人が居住することはできず、ただ産物を探ることができる。
この島は二十七度の暖地であるから、山嶺や渓谷といえども、なお大豆・麦・粟・稗・甘藷等を植えることができる。また烏臼木（ナンキンハゼ）を植えて蝋を得ることができる。また漁猟によって珍味を得ることができる。
この島に産する草木および諸物を下に記す。しかしながら獣類は全くない。

In the ocean between Mikura Island and Hachijojima, there is a rapid current called Kurose River, which is considered a dangerous place by sailors. This can be understood by looking at the map.
Among the islands, large and small, there are a total of eighty-nine mountains. Of these, there are two large islands, four medium islands, and four small islands. These ten islands have extensive land with abundant vegetation and flat areas in places where people can reside. The remaining seventy-odd islands are small rocky islets with steep terrain, so people cannot live on them, but products can be gathered there.
Since these islands are in the warm region of twenty-seven degrees, even in mountain peaks and valleys, soybeans, wheat, millet, barnyard grass, sweet potatoes, and other crops can be planted. Also, Chinese tallow trees (Nankin-haze) can be planted to obtain wax. Moreover, rare delicacies can be obtained through fishing and hunting.
The vegetation and various products found on these islands are recorded below. However, there are no wild animals at all.
