その国で、常用の銭は本邦の寛永通宝である（古来より国銭はない）
その国は小国で日本・唐山（中国）両大国の間に挟まれている。そのため両国に服従して両朝廷へ使節を送る。日本へ使節を送る時は日本の年号を用い、唐山へ使節を送る時は唐山の年号を用いる。その国力では足りないからである。しかし唐山へ使節を送ることを日本には秘密にし、日本へ使節を送ることを唐山には秘密にする。これを見れば唐山の威権が日本より重いとも言えるだろうか。
その国中に伊勢大神宮、八幡、熊野、天満宮などを祀った社が数多くあるという。
今の琉球国主は正しく源八郎為朝の血筋であると、その国の人々も称している。

In that country, the currency in regular use is our country's Kan'ei Tsūhō coins (there have been no national coins since ancient times).
That country is small and sandwiched between the two great powers of Japan and Tōzan (China). Therefore, it submits to both countries and sends envoys to both courts. When sending envoys to Japan, they use Japanese era names, and when sending envoys to Tōzan, they use Tōzan's era names. This is because their national strength is insufficient. However, they keep secret from Japan their sending of envoys to Tōzan, and keep secret from Tōzan their sending of envoys to Japan. From this, one might say that Tōzan's authority carries more weight than Japan's.
In that country, there are said to be many shrines dedicated to Ise Grand Shrine, Hachiman, Kumano, Tenman-gū, and others.
