According to their account, the founding ruler of Ryukyu was called Tenson-shi, who served as the sovereign for generations. The dynasty continued for several thousand years, but when their virtue declined, various aji (local lords) rebelled against them, and finally the ruler was assassinated by treacherous retainers who usurped the throne. Urasoe Aji executed those traitors. The people elevated him to the throne, calling him Shunten-ō. This lord was indeed the son of Chinzei Hachirō Tametomo of Japan. His mother was the younger sister of Ōzato Aji. During the Eiman era of Emperor Nijō, Tametomo sailed across the sea for pleasure and arrived at Ryukyu.
