何の死ということがあろうか、思うべきである。
蝦夷国の産物には良材が多い。第一に桧葉が甚だ多い。蝦夷松といって桧に類する良材が多い。当世、障子・曲物・白木台等に作るのは皆この木である。その外にも用途が多い。五葉松も多い。蝦夷松より劣るというけれども、これもまた良材である。この外に桂・楢・樺・黄檗等が多い。
草には春菊に白花のものがあり、百合に黒花のものがある。虎杖（イタドリ）に太いこと周り六七寸にして高いこと一丈五六尺なるものがある。蕗（フキ）に茎の周り六七寸にして葉の大きさ方一丈余なるものがある。
