この二つの魚で一年の食料に充てることができる（蝦夷地では五穀を植えることができないが、天がこの魚類を生じさせて人の食料に充てる。まことに造化の妙である）。この二魚の外に、ナマコ・アワビが多い。これもまた食料に充てることができる。
