現代語訳
ことを知って速やかに上陸すると言われる。すべて東海の漁船は度々出会うこととなる。
キナボウという魚がある。形は海鷂魚のようで、腹中に油腸がある。蝦夷の人々はこれを珍味とする。
アカエイで甚だ大きなものがある。稀に浮き出るときその背の広さが方六七十丈のものがあると言う。これもまた大奇異である。すべて偏気の地であるため、異物も生ずるのであろうか。
昆布のことは世に知られているところなので記さない。
薬品にイケマ、エブリコがある。この二薬は蝦夷の人々が疾病のとき服用するものである。この外に薬品があるが、用いることを知らない。エブリコは茸である。或いは深山の大きな桧の木に生ずると言うが、まだ実否を知らない。疝気、虫積、悪心、嘔吐を療するにはエブリコを用い、打身、切り傷、風邪、腫れ物を療するにはイケマを用いると言われる。

There is a fish called "kinabou." Its shape is like a sea ray, and it has oil sacs in its belly. The Ainu people consider this a delicacy.
There are extremely large red stingrays. It is said that when they rarely surface, some have backs as wide as sixty to seventy jō square. This too is a great wonder. Since this is entirely a land of peculiar climate, strange creatures are probably born there as well.

Among medicinal products, there are ikema and eburiko. These two medicines are taken by the Ainu people when they have illnesses. There are other medicinal products besides these, but they do not know how to use them. Eburiko is a mushroom. Some say it grows on large cypress trees in deep mountains, but I do not yet know if this is true or false. For treating hernia, intestinal parasites, nausea, and vomiting, eburiko is used. For treating bruises, cuts, colds, and swellings, ikema is used, it is said.
