【弓の説明】
弓夷語ニ ハ（fa）グ（gu）ト云
オツコノ木ニテ作ル。世
ニ伽羅木ト云モノ也。廻
リ二寸六七分。長サ三尺
七八寸。皆革ニテ巻也。弦
ハ。アイト云草ノ皮ヲ以
テ三グリニヨル也

【弓の説明】
弓はアイヌ語で「ファグ（fagu）」と言う
オヒョウの木で作る。世間で
伽羅木と呼ばれるものである。周囲
二寸六、七分。長さ三尺
七、八寸。すべて革で巻いてある。弦
は、アイと呼ばれる草の皮を
三つ撚りにしたものである

The bow is called "fagu" in Ainu language
Made from Japanese elm wood. This is what
is commonly called kyara wood. Circumference
of two sun, six to seven bu. Length of three shaku,
seven to eight sun. All wrapped with leather. The string
is made from the bark of a grass called "ai"
twisted into three strands
