する晌（とき）は。四々（しゝ）の内疾（ないしつ）【左に（ハラノヤマヒ）】八々（はち〳〵）の外腫（ぐわいやう）【左に（デキモノ）】。一（ひとつ）として治（なを）らすといふ縡（こと）なし。先年（せんねん）張順（ちやうじゆん）が母（はゝ）の疽（そ）を。

この一人は元々建康府の人である。家業として医法を営み、病人に出会うと首をかしげて診察し、薬を調合する時は、四四の内疾（腹の病）、八八の外腫（できもの）で、一つとして治せないということはなかった。先年、張順の母の腫れ物をすぐに治した功績が称えられ、この度宋江が怪しい腫れ物に悩まされているのを、再び張順が府に走って迎えに来ようと、家に到着した夕べ、愛妓李巧奴に深く執着しており、別れの情が非常に辛そうなのを見て、多くは出発の妨げになるだろうと、巧奴が別れの宴に来た後を、浪裏白跳張順が白刃を躍らせて、水音も立てずに斬り殺し、かえって壁に鮮血を染め、巧奴を殺した刃の主は道全であると記したので、一身故郷に安住し難く、心を決めて水泊に走った。そして宋江の病を見て、笑って薬を用いること十日もかからずに全快し、容体・飲食とも元の通りとなった。この世の薬能は右に劣らず。

When preparing medicines, there was not a single case of the forty-four internal diseases (abdominal ailments) or the eighty-eight external swellings (tumors) that he could not cure. His achievement in quickly curing Zhang Shun's mother's abscess in previous years was praised, and this time when Song Jiang was troubled by a strange tumor, Zhang Shun again rushed to the prefecture to invite him. On the evening he arrived at the house, seeing that he was deeply attached to his beloved courtesan Li Qiaonu and that the pain of separation seemed extremely distressing, thinking this would likely hinder his departure, after Qiaonu came to the farewell banquet, Zhang Shun (nicknamed "White Stripe in the Waves") wielded his white blade and killed her without making a sound in the water, instead staining the wall with fresh blood. Since it was recorded that Daouan was the owner of the blade that killed Qiaonu, finding it difficult to remain peacefully in his hometown, he resolved to flee to the water stronghold.
