此（この）一個（ひとり）は鄴 城（じやう）の人（ひと）。鎗棒（そうぼう）を能（よく）す。 外術（ぐわいじゆつ）あつて。濶（ひろき）を跳（とび）高（たかき）を踰（こゆ）る。昔（そのかみ）年少（わかき）の比（ころ）。
鄴城（ぎやうじやう）の西（にし）に。涉（わたり）百尺（ひやくじやう）計（ばかり）の双流（そうりう）の深（ふか）き澗（たに）ありたりしを。五十 両（りやう）の銀賭（かねがけ）して只（たゞ）一（ひと）
跨（とび）に跳 踰（こへ）たり。流俗（よのひと）これに感（かん）じ驚（おどろ）き。綽号（あだな）を跳澗虎（てうかんこ）と呼称（よびたゝ）へり。朱武（しゆぶ）

《地煞星七十二員のうち地周星》跳澗虎陳達
この人は鄴城の人である。槍と棒術を得意とし、軽業の術があって、広い場所を跳び、高い場所を越えることができた。昔、年少の頃、鄴城の西に、渡ること百尺ほどの双流の深い谷があったのを、五十両の銀を賭けてただ一跳びで跳び越えた。世間の人々はこれに感動し驚いて、綽名を跳澧虎と呼び称えた。朱武と楊春とともに少華山で盗賊の首領となって、威勢を振るうこと六、七年。山麓の村で史進と争い、朱武の仲裁で和睦を遂げた。秋が去り春が来るにつれ、豪傑としての腕を磨くうちに、画工王義の些細な事から、物事が複雑に絡み始めて、史進と智深に災いが生じ、西岳の廟や華州の城で、戦いが続く水滸の剣戟となった。この軍中に加わって、抜群の働きをなした。宋江と呉用の非常に頼もしさに、心をひたすら傾けて、水泊（梁山泊）に帰順した。

《Among the seventy-two members of the Earthly Fiend Stars: Earthly Cycle Star》Jumping Stream Tiger Chen Da
This person was from Ye City. He was skilled with spear and staff, and possessed acrobatic arts, able to jump across wide spaces and leap over high places. In the past, when he was young, west of Ye City there was a deep ravine of twin streams about a hundred feet across, which he leaped over in a single bound after wagering fifty taels of silver. The common people were moved and amazed by this, and nicknamed him Jumping Stream Tiger. Together with Zhu Wu and Yang Chun, he became a bandit chief on Mount Shaohua, wielding power for six or seven years. He fought with Shi Jin in the village at the foot of the mountain, but achieved reconciliation through Zhu Wu's mediation. As autumn departed and spring came, while honing his skills as a hero, trouble began to entangle from a small matter involving the painter Wang Yi, bringing disaster to Shi Jin and Zhishen, leading to continued battles with swords and halberds at the temples of West Mountain and the castle of Huazhou. Joining in this military campaign, he performed outstandingly. Deeply impressed by the great reliability of Song Jiang and Wu Yong, he wholeheartedly devoted himself and submitted to the water stronghold (Liangshan Marsh).
