End Article 1: The order of ceremonial seating is detailed in the section on various ceremonial protocols Article 1: From the original ancestor's Kōchi-chū to guard organization and above, the head position is at the second tatami mat from the paper threshold upward. For ceremonial occasions of yoriki officials, the head position is at the first tatami mat from the paper threshold upward, with the master of ceremonies and inspector in attendance Article 1: The matter of Kōchi-chū seating is determined by the lord's will at the time However, according to current practice, appointments are made to the third position, two ranks below the father's position - around the Kōka era Article 1: For yoriai bangai (assembly outside members), appointments are made to the fourth position, three ranks below the father's position This was established through Honda Shuri's inquiry regarding Sakai Takurō's seating in the first year of Shōtoku (1711), year of the rabbit. However, there may be slight variations depending on circumstances Article 1: The heir to an elder councilor's position is appointed to the senior seat of the assembly However, currently, appointments are made to the fourth position, three ranks below when continuing from that official position to the assembly - around the Kōka era Article 1: The heir of a retired guard captain enters their parent's original seat Article 1: When a chamberlain from regular succession seating is appointed as palace guard captain, if there is an unemployed assembly member above them, they are promoted by one seat. If a guard captain is above them, they are appointed while maintaining their current seat Article 1: When regular succession seating appointees become caretakers, palace guard captains, or great guard captains, if there is an unemployed assembly member above them, they are promoted by one seat. If someone already serving in an official role is above them, they remain in their current seat However, this article states that on the 18th day of the 11th month of Bunka 12 (1815), all three positions - palace guard captain, great guard captain, and caretaker - should be promoted by one seat. For example, someone promoted by one seat when appointed as great guard captain would not need further promotion when later appointed as palace guard captain or caretaker, as announced Article 1: Reported from Edo on the 6th day of the 5th month of Kyōwa 1 (1801) Regarding seating arrangements for Sano Naizen, apprentice chamberlain Ōmiya Hikoemon Should be understood in the same manner as elder councilor apprentices Regarding my own appointment as palace guard captain rank, I am appointed to succession seating Daidōji Magokurō However, I was appointed palace guard captain rank in the lord's presence Article 1: In the 2nd month of the 2nd year of the same era (1802), Katayama Ainosuke was appointed head of personal attendants at Edo. Regarding seating for this occasion, he was appointed above the new guard captains However, the former position of personal attendant supervisor has been renamed to head of personal attendants, as announced Article 1: 24th day of the 1st month of Bunka 4 (1807) Regarding my own case, by the lord's will, New Year ceremonials were conducted in the Tartar Room after Honda Genba's ceremonials were completed. Monthly ceremonials remain as before. Also appointed to access the middle entrance of the lord's quarters. This should be understood accordingly Sakai Gaiki Regarding my own case, by the lord's will, both New Year and monthly ceremonials in the ceremonial seating Sugita Gonnosuke
