現代語訳

御輿入道はそれより魍魎の館へ尋ね行き、親子久しぶりに対面があり、三つ目になった物語を聞き、喜び合った。御輿の家を譲り、化け物の頭となるべしとしばらく耐えてきた御輿の家徳、族族がある。

この喜びのついでに、東山の「馬頭」という、あの情け深き化け物なればと、寄せ場の木を切って心ばかりのご馳走を…と集まって、今より「東山の白馬」となった。

「おめでとうございます」

「西竹林鶏三足、南海鶏魚、北州古狸、合わせて三ヶ所の化け物、そのほうに遣わす。そのほう頭を踏まえ、心のままに…すべし」

「面目ありがたい幸せでございます」

英語訳

Mikoshi Nyudo then went to visit the mansion of the demon spirits (mōryō), where father and child met after a long time and heard the story of how he had become three-eyed, rejoicing together. Having endured for some time the family virtue and relatives of Mikoshi, who was to inherit the Mikoshi house and become the head of monsters.

In celebration of this joy, they gathered to offer modest hospitality by cutting trees from the gathering place, thinking of the compassionate monster called "Bato" (Horse-head) of the eastern mountains, and he now became the "White Horse of the Eastern Mountains."

"The Three-legged Rooster of the Western Bamboo Grove, the Rooster-Fish of the Southern Sea, and the Old Raccoon Dog of the Northern Province - monsters from these three places combined, I send to you. You shall take charge as their head and act as your heart desires."

"What an honorable and grateful blessing this is."
