現代語訳

さても見越しの介は去りし夜、お雪の方へ立ち寄り、互いに思いの丈を明かし、その後は化け物のことなれば何をしたか知らず、ちんちんかもの仲となって、その後夜ごとに通い楽しみけり。この雪女、いつも真っ白かと思えばそうではなし。雪の降らぬ時は、やはり人間のようで、色っぽい事は浜村屋も裸足なり。

見越しはこよいも来たり、例の如く一夜を過ごしけり。

またお六は夫の毎夜いずくともなく出でて朝帰るを不思議に思い、体は家に留守を守り、首ばかりひそかに後を慕い、この様子を見て「さては」と驚きしが、心に納め立ち帰る。首ばかりなれば自由な事なり。

「誰はばからず、こういう楽しみが他にもあろう。もっとこちらへ寄りかけ...ちょっとした戯れを過ぎやんしょ」

英語訳

Now then, Mikooshi-no-suke went to visit Oyuki the previous night, and they revealed their deepest feelings to each other. What happened after that, being monster affairs, who knows - but they became intimate lovers, and from then on he visited her nightly for pleasure. This snow woman was not always pure white as one might think. When snow was not falling, she appeared quite human-like, and her seductive skills put even Hamura-ya to shame.

Mikooshi came again tonight and spent the night as usual.

Meanwhile, Oroku found it strange that her husband went out somewhere every night and returned in the morning. While her body stayed home to watch the house, she secretly sent only her head to follow him. When she witnessed this scene, she was shocked, thinking "So that's what's going on!" but kept it to herself and returned home. Being just a head, she could move about freely.
