唱候港者小浜藩支配所ニ而
当藩地者敦賀郡之内鞠山
与唱候地所ニ御座候就而者是迄
敦賀港御用向等毎々当藩江

鞠山藩与改唱被
現代語訳
唱えている港は小浜藩の支配所であり、
当藩の領地は敦賀郡の内の鞠山
と称している土地にございます。このことについては、これまで
敦賀港の御用向きなど度々当藩へ
御達しが来るような混雑が生じ、
大いに御手数をおかけしていることも、全く名前と実態が
反対していることから起こっている事柄でございます。
そうであるならば今後ますます混乱による害が
大きくなることは必至の事と、実に堪え難く恐れ
恐縮し焦慮いたしておりますので、何卒今後は
鞠山藩と改称していただき

The port we refer to is under the jurisdiction of Obama Domain,
and our domain's territory is located in the land
called Maruyama within Tsuruga District. Regarding this matter,
various official business concerning Tsuruga Port has repeatedly
resulted in official communications being sent to our domain, causing confusion
and greatly troubling you, which is entirely due to the fact that the name and reality are
contrary to each other.
If this continues, the harm from increasing confusion
will surely grow greater, which we find truly unbearable and fearful,
causing us anxiety and distress. Therefore, we humbly request that henceforth
our domain be renamed as Maruyama Domain
