現代語訳

息思亭の説」がある。云く、「琉球天使館は、門から入ると、正堂が三間ある。正堂から引いて書房に至ると三間ある。私は東に処し、李君際春は西に処した。房の後に、再び三間の官舎があり、輩がそこに処している。両旁を廊で翼のように囲み、房は各六間ある。門に『輿皁寓』と書してある。暑い月は蘊隆として、琉球の人が私のために後垣の空地を卜し、土を砌き茅で瓦にし、柱を竪ててそれを亭とした。私はそれゆえ扁して『息思』と曰った。以て咏じ以て歌い、庶くは其の身の異郷にあることを忘れんとした」と。

天使館の堂は、旧と「灑露」と名づけた。万暦四年、冊使蕭崇業が「灑露堂の説」を有している。云く、「使館は故と匾を有するも称はず。唐人の云く、『海東万里扶桑に灑く』と。意は懐遠にあり也。余は灑露を以てこれを名づく」と。副使謝杰の記に云く、「灑露堂とは、天使館の堂なり也。諫議蕭使公の、斯の堂を名づくる所以なり也」と。

《臣葆光按するに、此の二条は当に旧使館の中に在るべし。今匾は廃し亭は圯る。皆考うべからず。郭記に云うに「門自り入りて、正堂三間」と就くに、今旧院大門の内は即ち大堂なり。儀門無し。居然として知るべし已》

天使館には、日々に都通事一員、紅帕秀才二十人がある。輪番に門に値して、指使を聴候する。

天使館の旁らに、支応分けて七司を設く。一は館務司で、館中大小応行すべき事件を掌る。一は承應所で、館中の修葺物件家伙等の事を掌る。一は掌牲所で、羊豕鶏鴨支送等の事を掌る。一は供応所で、館中の酒米を掌る

英語訳

"Explanation of the Sixi Pavilion." It states: "The Ryukyu Celestial Envoy Residence, upon entering through the gate, has a main hall of three rooms. Leading from the main hall to the study are three rooms. I was situated in the east, while Lord Li Jichun was situated in the west. Behind the rooms, there are again three rooms of official quarters where attendants reside. Both sides are flanked by corridors, with six rooms each. On the gate is written 'Lodging for Sedan Carriers and Attendants.' During the hot months when the heat was oppressive, the Ryukyu people divined a vacant plot behind the rear wall for me. They laid earth, thatched it instead of using tiles, erected pillars and made it into a pavilion. I therefore inscribed it 'Sixi' (Rest and Reflection). With this I could compose poetry and songs, hoping to forget that my body was in a foreign land."

The hall of the Celestial Envoy Residence was formerly named "Sailu" (Sprinkling Dew). In the fourth year of Wanli, investiture envoy Xiao Chongye wrote an "Explanation of Sailu Hall." It states: "The envoy residence formerly had a plaque but it was not fitting. The Tang people said, 'Ten thousand li east of the sea, [dew] sprinkles on Fusang.' The meaning lies in cherishing the distant. I name it with 'Sailu.'" Vice-envoy Xie Jie's record states: "Sailu Hall is the hall of the Celestial Envoy Residence. This is why Remonstrance Official Envoy Xiao named this hall."

《Minister Baoguang notes: These two entries should belong in the former envoy residence. Now the plaques are ruined and the pavilion collapsed. None can be verified. According to Guo's record stating "entering from the gate, main hall of three rooms," today inside the main gate of the old courtyard is immediately the great hall. There is no ceremonial inner gate. This is clearly evident.》

At the Celestial Envoy Residence, daily there are one chief interpreter and twenty red-capped scholars who take turns standing duty at the gate, awaiting orders.

Beside the Celestial Envoy Residence, support services are divided into seven offices. The first is the Residence Affairs Office, which handles all large and small matters that should be carried out in the residence. The second is the Reception Office, which handles matters of repairs, furnishings, household goods, etc. in the residence. The third is the Livestock Management Office, which handles matters of supplying and delivering sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, etc. The fourth is the Provision Office, which handles wine and rice for the residence
