稽古事に夢中になって、少しは男のたしなみとして剣術へ上がり、棒術を言っても覚えないうちに、たしなみがあると見せたくて目つきを怖くして、家の子供や飯炊きの手をねじって嫌がらせ、先生の手の内を見て、とかく人を泣かせたくなり、夜の晩に寂しい所へ行ってやってみる所が、向こうは寂しいを歩く程度なので女性もいない

生兵法で大きな目に遭い、家にばかり引きこもっていれば、そのような気を詰めては毒だと、茶道や生け花を習わせると、これも面白くなり、梅や椿や水仙の名前を知らないものもない。その外、小草の名前も覚え、四季の花を扱わない家になみ木池のそばで花の会も風戸を敷き、幕を打ち、君主の中で落ちを取る気で上下などで大きくやれば、両親ながら生け花は心安いものかと思う
