郎ト云者ナリ生質缺唇ナリ是モ身帶滅却シテ乞
食ト成リ安右衞門ト共ニ東寺ノ廊下ニ屈ミ居
タルヲ南蠻寺ヨリ引取藥湯ヲ浴シ全身淸淨ナ
ラシメ美服ヲ與ヘテ五體ヲ溫メ服藥月ヲ重ネ

This man had been a wealthy townsman, but his fortune had collapsed, and moreover he suffered from syphilis which spread over his body, eventually obscuring his features and making him a beggar. He lay beneath the corridors of Tōji temple on Ōmiya street, obtaining leftover food from the temple to sustain his daily life. Another person was also from Izumi province, a peasant named Zengoro from a place called Sumimura. He was born with a cleft lip. He too had lost his livelihood and became a beggar, crouching together with Yasuemon under the corridors of Tōji temple, when they were taken in by the Nanban temple.
