云ヿナシ此三人ノ外南蠻寺ニテ病氣全快ノ者
共或ハ金銀ヲ與ヘテ商人トシ或ハ帶刀シテ仕
官ノ人トシテ悉ク洛中近國ニ放遣シ南蠻寺廣大
ノ恩惠ヲ云ヒ弘メ諸國難治ノ病人ハ南蠻寺ニ
來テ利益ヲ蒙ルヘシト信長ノ命ナル由南蠻寺

The three men received instruction in the magical arts as easily as poling a boat downstream. They could make a hand towel appear as a horse, throw dust into the air and transform it into birds, make flowers bloom on withered trees, turn clods of earth into precious jewels, sit in mid-air, disappear into the ground, suddenly produce black clouds, and cause rain and snow to fall—there was no technique they could not master. Besides these three men, those who had been completely cured of illnesses at the Nanban temple were given gold and silver to become merchants, or allowed to wear swords and become government officials, and were sent forth throughout the capital and neighboring provinces to spread word of the great benevolence of the Nanban temple. They proclaimed that patients with incurable diseases from all provinces should come to the Nanban temple to receive its benefits, claiming this was by Nobunaga's command. Those who had recovered at the Nanban temple dispersed to nearby and distant provinces to repay their gratitude by
