於テハ忽新宗破却シ絶法スヘシト大ニ怒テ仰

によって広く弘通することを得た。然らば新宗の門徒は我に対しては身命を捨てても奉公すべきところに、高山右近は深く天帝宗を崇敬すると聞くに、今かえって我に背いて敵に与す。天帝は天地の始めにして正直を以て法の本とすといえども、荒木村重の不忠に与するの条、正直の門徒に非ず。急ぎ高山右近の不義を翻して味方に来るように致すべし。さもなくば忽ち新宗を破却し絶法すべし」と大いに怒って仰せられたので、ウルガンは甚だ恐れ、急ぎ高山右近を勧めて信長へ従属せしめた。これらの故を以て信長は速やかに新宗

through which [the new sect] was able to spread widely. If that is so, then the followers of the new sect should serve me with devotion even at the cost of their lives. Yet although I hear that Takayama Ukon deeply reveres the Heavenly Emperor's sect, now he instead turns against me and sides with the enemy. Even though the Heavenly Emperor is the beginning of heaven and earth and makes honesty the foundation of the law, by siding with Araki Murashige's disloyalty, [Ukon] is not a follower of honesty. Quickly make Takayama Ukon reverse his unrighteousness and come to our side. If not, I will immediately destroy the new sect and abolish the faith." Having spoken thus in great anger, Organtino was greatly frightened and quickly persuaded Takayama Ukon to submit to Nobunaga.
