威ヲ工匠ノ徒ニ震フ爰ニ南蠻寺ノ破天連イル
マンノ徒ハ信長一代ハ開宗ノ大檀越ニシテ心
ハ儘ニ弘法シケレトモ今ヤ秀吉公天下ノ權ヲ執
テ一言以テ天下ヲ動カサス何トソ秀吉ニ親ク
馴睦シ奉リ宗門無障弘法セハヤト種々ニ智畧

理太夫という者があった。彼は元来中井半兵衞という工匠であった。秀吉公の大坂をはじめ諸所の普請の評議相手として昼夜傍を去らず勤仕した。宿所は淀の城下にあって母を置いた。自分は天下の大工頭となって威を工匠の徒に震わした。ここに南蛮寺の破天連イルマンの徒は、信長一代は開宗の大檀越にして心のままに弘法したけれども、今や秀吉公が天下の権を執って一言以て天下を動かす。何とぞ秀吉に親しく馴れ睦び奉り、宗門無障害に弘法せばやと種々に智略を廻らした。然るにこの修理太夫は昼夜秀吉に随順し

He served as Hideyoshi's advisor on construction projects, beginning with Osaka and extending to various other places, remaining by his side day and night without leaving. His residence was located below Yodo Castle where he kept his mother. Having become the chief carpenter of the realm, he wielded authority over all craftsmen. At this point, the Nanban temple padres and their Irmão followers had freely propagated their faith during Nobunaga's lifetime, as he was the great patron of their sect's founding. But now that Lord Hideyoshi held power over the realm and could move the entire country with a single word, they devised various schemes, hoping somehow to become intimately acquainted with Hideyoshi and serve him well, so that their sect might propagate without hindrance.
