ニ來リテ一宿ス母出迎ヘテ請シ入レ追々因贈 品ノ會釋シ客僧モ終夜ノ和談ニ及テ梅庵申ケ ルハ凡ソ當時佛法釋迦彌陀共ニ凡人ノ自性ヲ 知テ佛ト稱スル佛法ナルカ故末代ノ今ハ其法 威衰ヘ道德自然ニ消滅シテ今世ノ佛法ヲ以テ 成佛全ク成就セス天帝ノ佛法ハ混沌ノ初ニ出 現ノ佛ニシテ今世モ日月ト同體ニシテ更ニ法 威道德天地ノ始ニ易ルヿナシ主ノ宗旨何レノ 宗ノ門徒ト云ヿハ知ネトモ未來後生成佛ヲ願ヒ 給ハ〱速ニ攺宗シテ南蠻宗ニ歸伏セラルヘシ

に来て一宿した。母は出迎えて請じ入れ、追々贈り物の会釈をし、客僧も終夜の和やかな談話に及んで、梅庵が申すには「凡そ当時の仏法は、釈迦・弥陀共に凡人の自性を知って仏と称する仏法であるが故に、末代の今はその法威が衰え、道徳も自然に消滅して、今世の仏法をもって成仏することは全く成就しない。天帝の仏法は混沌の初めに出現した仏であって、今世も日月と同体であり、更にその法威・道徳は天地の始まりから変わることがない。主(あなた)の宗旨がいずれの宗の門徒というかは知らないが、未来後生の成仏を願い給うならば、速やかに改宗して南蛮宗に帰伏されるべきである」

The mother welcomed him and invited him in, gradually offering courtesies for the gifts he had sent, and the guest monk engaged in peaceful conversation throughout the night. Baian said: "Generally speaking, the current Buddhist teachings - whether of Shakyamuni or Amida - are Buddhist teachings that call ordinary people 'Buddha' upon knowing their own nature. Therefore, in these latter days, their religious authority has declined and their moral teachings have naturally disappeared, so that achieving Buddhahood through present-day Buddhism cannot be accomplished at all. The Buddhist teaching of the Heavenly Emperor is the Buddha who appeared at the beginning of chaos, and even now exists in the same essence as the sun and moon, with religious authority and moral virtue unchanged since the beginning of heaven and earth. I do not know which sect your religious affiliation belongs to, but if you wish for Buddhahood in the future afterlife, you should quickly convert and submit to the Nanban sect."
