取り物も取り敢えず、梅庵は西国へ逃げ下り、告須・蒙は遠州に知り合いがあって出奔した。寿問は越前へ走って隠れた。両破天連・両イルマンは手足を置く所もなく、ただ迷い惑って居たところに、増田・長束が押し寄せ、寺中を取り囲み、在る所の人一人も残さず搦め捕って秀吉公へ奏達した。秀吉公が命じて言うには、「よく考えよ、往古鎌倉北条の時、異国人を誅殺して日本の大事に及んだことがある。日本に住居しない者は日本の罪科を糺すに及ばず。肥前長崎へ送り遣わし、オランダ船に乗せ、再度日本へ来れば重ねては斬罪すべし」と、本国に帰って申し伝えよ

The two padres and two irmãos had nowhere to place their hands and feet, and were simply bewildered and confused when Masuda and Natsuka pressed forward, surrounded the temple grounds, captured every single person there without exception, and reported to Lord Hideyoshi. Lord Hideyoshi commanded, saying: "Consider well—in ancient times during the Kamakura period under the Hōjō, there was an occasion when foreigners were executed, leading to a great crisis for Japan. Those who do not reside in Japan need not be subjected to Japanese criminal punishment. Send them to Nagasaki in Hizen, put them aboard Dutch ships, and if they come to Japan again, they shall be executed the second time." Tell them to return to their home country and relay this message.
