They secretly propagated the Tentei sect and destroyed a Zen temple called Jikkō-ji in Funai Village of the same district, driving out a monk named Shinzōshu. The monk became angry and went down to Edo, filing a complaint with the temple and shrine office. Then an official envoy from the Kantō region came down and investigated the followers, bringing peace to Uto District. Sixteen years after Keichō 16, from around Kan'ei 3 (1626), there were people like the Rokujūrokubu who wandered around nearby provinces such as Tanba and Ōmi as well as distant provinces, giving gold and silver and showing the Sanze Mirror to encourage people. As it was heard that this sect was emerging again in various provinces, official envoys from the government office strictly investigated and arrested those who would not convert, putting them one by one into straw bags at Kyoto's Sanjō Riverbank and at the horse [grounds] of Osaka Castle.
