男女ソノ宗ノ名言ヲ知ラス。其宗ノ行相ヲ知ラ
ス。何况ヤ所依ノ經論。所得ノ見解ニ於テオヤ禪
宗。念佛宗。日蓮宗。此三宗ハ。今時盛ニ世ニ行ハル。
故ニ男女貴賤。名ヲ其宗門ニ安ンスル者多シ是
ニ依テ。諸人ソノ名相ヲ聞テ。皆マサニ云リ。佛法
ハタ〱當來ノ受樂ノ法也。人ノコレヲ知ヿ爰ニ
ツクセルノミ。知ヤスキカ如ナリト雖モ。實ニイ
マタ知易カラサル者ナリ。
初日ノ談義曰。夫佛法ハ。是無法ヲ以テ極則トス。
釋迦法ヲ迦葉ニ傳ユル偈曰。法ノ本法ハ無法也。
現代語訳
男女その宗の名言を知らず、その宗の行相を知らず、況んや所依の経論、所得の見解においてをや。禅宗、念仏宗、日蓮宗、この三宗は今時盛んに世に行われる。故に男女貴賤、名をその宗門に安んずる者多し。これによって、諸人その名相を聞いて、皆まさに言うべし。「仏法はただただ当来の受楽の法なり。人のこれを知ることここに尽くせるのみ。知り易きが如くなりといえども、実にいまだ知り易からざる者なり」と。
初日の談義に曰く、「それ仏法は、これ無法を以て極則とす。釈迦法を迦葉に伝うる偈に曰く、『法の本法は無法なり』と。
英語訳
Men and women do not know the sayings of that sect, nor do they know the practices of that sect, much less the foundational sutras and commentaries or the insights gained from them. The Zen sect, Pure Land sect, and Nichiren sect—these three sects are now flourishing widely in the world. Therefore, many people of all genders and social classes place their faith in these sectarian names. Because of this, when people hear these sectarian names, they all tend to say: "Buddhism is simply a teaching for receiving pleasure in the future life. Human understanding of this is exhausted right here. Although it may seem easy to understand, in reality it is still not easy to comprehend."
The first day's discourse states: "Buddhism takes 'no-dharma' as its ultimate principle. In the verse where Shakyamuni transmitted the Dharma to Kashyapa, it says: 'The fundamental dharma of dharma is no-dharma.'"
