は又能 慰（なくさみ）なり一日あそこ爰と漕（こぎ）廻りけるが
いざやさわがしき所を離（はなれ）て遊んとて船を
三股（みつまた）てふ処へこぎ寄て四方の気色を見渡
せば南は蒼海（そうかい）漫々（まん〳〵）として雲と海との色も
さやかには見へわかず行かふ帆（ほ）は蝶（てう）の飛かふが
ごとく安房（あは）相模の海にそふて出たるは只一筆にて
画（ゑがき）たるに似たり西は箱根大山なんぞも幽（かすか）に見へわたり
けふは水無月其日なればかの望（もち）に消（け）ぬれば其夜ふり
けりと詠したる富士（ふじ）の高根（たかね）もいとしるく近きあた
りは人の家居のみ多くして民の竈（かまど）の夕煙（ゆふけふり）たなび
き渡りさしもに広（ひろき）武蔵野も人の住わたらぬ
処もなく草より出て草に入昔の月に引かへて
軒（のき）より出て軒に入ともいふべき風情道行人は
只 蟻（あり）なんどの行かふがごとく見へ渡ればさながら仙
境に入たる心地なんして覚へずも舷（ふなばた）をたゝきいと
しめやかに諷たるに舟屋かたの塵（ちり）もちり空行（そらゆく）雲
もたゞよひぬともいふなる人々は興に乗じて香包
取出して一炷くゆらせいとしづかにたのしみける
がいざや中洲の辺へ行て蜆とらんと皆々小舟に乗
移菊之丞日我は案じ掛し発句あれば跡より

はまた良い慰みである。一日あちこちと漕ぎ回っていたが、さあ騒がしい所を離れて遊ぼうと、船を三股という処へ漕ぎ寄せて四方の景色を見渡すと、南は青い海が広々として雲と海との色もはっきりとは見分けがつかず、行き交う帆は蝶が飛び交うようで、安房・相模の海に沿って出ているのはただ一筆で描いたかのようである。西は箱根・大山なども薄くぼんやりと見え渡り、今日は水無月のその日なので、あの「望月に消えなければその夜降った」と詠んだ富士の高峰もとてもはっきりと見える。近い辺りは人の家ばかり多くて、民の竈の夕煙がたなびき渡り、あれほど広い武蔵野も人の住まない処がなく、「草より出て草に入る」昔の月に引き替えて「軒より出て軒に入る」とも言うべき風情である。道行く人はただ蟻などが行き交うように見えるので、そのまま仙境に入った心地がして、思わず船縁を叩き、とても静かに謡ったところ、「船宿方の塵も散り、空行く雲もただよう」とも言うような人々は興に乗じて香包を取り出して一炷焚かせ、とても静かに楽しんでいた。さあ中洲の辺へ行って蜆を取ろうと、皆々小舟に乗り移った。菊之丞が「私は案じ掛けた発句があるので後から」

To the west, Hakone, Mount Ōyama and others could be seen faintly in the distance.
