備中守宅え罷越用人呼出シ
口上申述今日 上使罷通り候
座鋪一覧致度旨其外案内
道筋等後程迄致見分可置旨

一熨斗目麻上下着替罷有候
一暫過用人案内ニ而座鋪并
案内道筋等致見分候尤其節
御先手長田右兵衛尉御城坊主
同道ニ而万事打合
置本之席え罷越様罷有候
一料理等出暫見合罷有候
一上使注進使虎之門ゟ注進申聞
広間え罷越番士罷有候前ニ
着座刀近習之者侍居候
一上使刀取り坊主衆取扱
一注進使松平大和守屋敷前ゟ之
注進申聞候ニ付表門地覆一間程
手前迄罷越 上使下馬候
節地覆外え出会釈及夫より
先立式出え上り候節草履式石

一、五時に出宅、服紗小袖麻上下を着用
備中守宅へ赴き、用人を呼び出して
口上を申し述べる。今日上使が通られる
座敷を一覧したい旨、その外案内の
道筋等、後ほどまで見分けておくべき旨を
申し聞かせておいた。
一、熨斗目麻上下に着替えて控えていた。
一、しばらく過ぎて用人の案内で座敷並びに
案内道筋等を見分した。もっともその節
御先手長田右兵衛尉、御城坊主と
同道で万事打ち合わせ
置き、本の席へ赴くよう控えていた。
一、料理等を出してしばらく見合わせて控えていた。
一、上使の注進使が虎ノ門から注進を申し聞かせ、
広間へ赴いて番士が控えている前に
着座、刀は近習の者が侍していた。
一、上使の刀取りは坊主衆が取り扱う。
一、注進使が松平大和守屋敷前からの
注進を申し聞かせたので、表門の地覆から一間ほど
手前まで赴く。上使が下馬される
節、地覆の外へ出て会釈を行い、それより
先立って式台へ上がられる節、草履は式台の石の
左の方へ脱ぎ上げる。大書院の間の
中程で見計らって左の方へ開き、手を
突いて座す。

1. Departed residence at 5 o'clock, wearing fukusa kosode and hemp kamishimo
Went to the residence of Bitchu-no-kami, called out the steward (yōnin)
and conveyed oral instructions. Today the imperial envoy (jōshi) will pass through,
requesting to inspect the reception room, as well as guidance on
the route and other matters, which should be examined and prepared by later.
This was communicated and understood.
1. Changed into noshime hemp kamishimo and waited in attendance.
1. After a while, guided by the steward, inspected the reception room and
guidance routes. At that time, accompanied by
御先手 Nagata Uhyōe-no-jō and castle monks,
coordinated all matters and
prepared to proceed to the main seating area.

1. The imperial envoy's messenger announced from Toranomon,
proceeded to the main hall where guards were stationed, and
took seats. Swords were attended to by close retainers.

proceeded to about one ken (6 feet) before the threshold (jifushi) of the main gate.
When the imperial envoy dismounted,
went outside the threshold to bow in greeting, then
preceded him up to the ceremonial platform (shikidai). Sandals were
removed to the left side of the platform stones. In the middle of
the Ōshoin reception room, at the appropriate moment, opened to the left side and
placed hands down in seated bow.
