【巻下四十五丁表】
方法を述べる。商の百の次に二十を置いて、さて
下方は一位（ひとくらい）ずらして、百を一倍にして二百と
なし、この下に二十を置く。この二十は、商に今（いま）
立てた（たつ）したがいて置くなり。さて法にて、下方の二百に
商の二十を掛ける。二二（ににの）四千と法に置いて、また
下方の二十に商の二十を掛ける。二二（ににの）四百と法に
置いて、これを実にて引くなり。
残りて七百二十九坪あり

The method is as follows: Next to the 100 in the quotient (shō), place 20. Then,
shift the lower method (kahō) down by one place, double the 100 to make it 200,
and place 20 below it. This 20 is placed in accordance with the 20 just established in the quotient.
Then, using the divisor (hō), multiply the 200 of the lower method
by the 20 of the quotient: two times two gives 4,000 — place this in the divisor (hō). Next,
multiply the 20 of the lower method by the 20 of the quotient: two times two gives 400 — place this in the divisor (hō).
Subtract these from the dividend (jitsu).
The remainder is 729 tsubo.
