この『新編塵劫記』〔吉田光由〕を開板・鏤梓し、
もってその伝を壽（ひさし）くし、今より以後、世に行われ、算法の
指南たるもの、符節（ふせつ）を合わすが如し。後生、勤めて施し、軽忽（きょうこつ）すること勿（なか）れ。
時に寛永第四、暦（こよみ）龍集（りゅうしゅう）彊梧単閼（きょうごたんあつ）、
仲穐（ちゅうしゅう）好目（こうもく）辰（たつ）、西嶺舜岳野釋〔玄光〕

This is taken from the smaller corner. In the method, place 2 as the quotient and also 2 in the Divisor. Multiply the 2 of the Divisor by the 2 of the quotient: 2×2 = 4; place this in the Divisor. Multiply this again by the 2 of the quotient: 2×4 = 8 tsubo. Subtract this from the dividend, and the calculation is complete.

This *Shinpen Jinkōki* [by Yoshida Mitsuyoshi] has been cut and printed from woodblocks, so that its transmission may long endure. From this time forward, as it circulates throughout the world, it shall serve as a guide to the art of calculation, fitting together like the two halves of a tally. Let future learners diligently apply themselves to it and not treat it with carelessness or neglect.
