【巻上四十一丁裏】
三年目は三わり 九十八石九斗六升二合五勺
の内 ○右の利を引て本何ほとそと問（とう）とき
○本卅五石になるといふ
法に九拾八石九斗六升二合五勺と右におきて
三年目の利三わりと左に置又十をくわへる時
十三となるこれにて右の九拾八石九斗六升
二合五勺をわる時七拾六石壱斗二升五合と成
又これを十四五にてわれは五十二石五斗に成
是を又十五にてわれは三拾五石になると

┃きぬもんめんの丈尺寸といふことは 大工の
かねに一尺二寸を御ふくにて一尺といふ
┃もんめん一たんに付代銀五匁なり長は二丈五尺
有時一尺は銀何ほとそととうとき
○二分つつにあたるといふ
法に五匁を右に置（をき） 廿五て割時二分としれ申候也
又五匁に四をかけても二分としるる也
┃もんめん八尺五寸あり一たんに付五匁なかさは
二丈五尺也右の八尺五寸の銀なにほとそと問（とう）
現代語訳
【巻上四十一丁裏】
三年目は三割 九十八石九斗六升二合五勺の
うちから、○右の利息を引いて元は何ほどかと問う時
○元三十五石になるという
計算法では、九十八石九斗六升二合五勺を右に置いて、
三年目の利息三割を左に置き、さらに一〇を加えると
一・三となる。これで右の九十八石九斗六升
二合五勺を割ると、七十六石一斗二升五合となる。
次にこれを一・四五で割ると、五十二石五斗になる。
これをさらに一・五で割ると三十五石になると
知るべし。
【巻上四十二丁表】
《題：第十三 絹・木綿売買のこと》
一 絹・木綿の丈・尺・寸というのは、大工の
曲尺（かねじゃく）の一尺二寸をお服（御服）では一尺という。
一 木綿一反につき代銀五匁、長さは二丈五尺の
時、一尺あたりの銀は何ほどかと問う時
○二分ずつに当たるという
計算法では、五匁を右に置き、二十五で割ると二分とわかる。
また五匁に四をかけても二分とわかる。
一 木綿八尺五寸あり、一反につき五匁で長さは
二丈五尺である。この八尺五寸分の銀は何ほどかと問う。

The third year at 3 wari (30%). From the combined total of 98 koku 9 to 6 shō 2 gō 5 shaku,
○ when asked what the principal is after subtracting the above interest:
○ The principal becomes 35 koku.
In the calculation method: place 98 koku 9 to 6 shō 2 gō 5 shaku on the right,
place the third year's interest of 3 wari on the left, and add 10 to get 1.3 (thirteen).
Divide the right-side value of 98 koku 9 to 6 shō 2 gō 5 shaku by this,
and it becomes 76 koku 1 to 2 shō 5 gō.
Then divide this by 1.45 (fourteen-five), and it becomes 52 koku 5 to.
Divide this again by 1.5 (fifteen), and it becomes 35 koku —
this should be known.

1. Regarding the units of length — jō, shaku, and sun — used for silk and cotton cloth:
one shaku two sun of the carpenter's square (kane-jaku) is called one shaku in terms of cloth measurement.
1. When the price of one tan of cotton cloth is 5 monme of silver, and the length is 2 jō 5 shaku,
when asked how much silver one shaku costs:
○ It comes to 2 bu each.
In the calculation method: place 5 monme on the right, divide by 25, and 2 bu is known.
Alternatively, multiplying 5 monme by 4 also gives 2 bu.
