【巻下二十五丁裏】
まわして一しめをいふ也 右の弐百そくを五尺
なわてしめてとる時に一そくに付五寸つゝふそく
ある時五尺なわ弐百そくに四尺五寸なわにて
なんそくにてあふと問時に

法に五尺をまるき法三一六にてわるときに

巻いて1締めとするものである。右の200束を5尺縄で締めて取るときに、1束につき5寸ずつ不足があるとき、5尺縄200束が4尺5寸縄では何束で合うかと問うときは：
○4尺5寸縄で247束になるという
計算法：5尺を丸木（円）の計算法である3.16で割るときに
1尺5寸8分2厘2毛となる。これを左右（算盤の両側）に置いて
掛けると、1寸四方の坪数250.3分3厘5毛6糸8忽4となる。これに200を掛けるときに

○The answer is 247 bundles of 4-shaku 5-sun rope.
Method: Divide 5 shaku by 3.16 (the circular calculation constant) to get 1 shaku 5 sun 8 bu 2 rin 2 mō. Place this on both sides of the abacus and multiply to get 250 tsubo 3 bu 3 rin 5 mō 6 shi 8 kotsu 4 (i.e., the cross-sectional area in 1-sun square units). Multiply this by 200 to get 50,067 tsubo 1 bu 3 rin 6 mō 8 shi, and set this aside on the right (of the abacus).

Next, divide 4 shaku 5 sun by 3.16 to get 1 shaku 4 sun 2 bu 4 rin. Place this on both sides of the abacus and multiply to get 202 tsubo 7 bu 7 rin 7 mō 6 shi. Divide the 50,067 tsubo 1 bu 3 rin 6 mō 8 (on the right) by this to get 246 bundles and 9 bu (i.e., 0.9 of a bundle). Rounding up the 0.9 to 1 bundle gives 7 (extra), making 247 bundles in total.
1. Similarly, there are 200 bundles of hiwata (bark rope) bound with 4-shaku 5-sun shime. Converting these to 5-shaku rope shime, how many bundles would result?
