【巻下廿七丁裏】
又四尺五寸をまるき法三一六にてわれは一尺
四寸二分四りと成これを左右に置（をき）てかくれは
弐百下二坪七分七り七毛六糸と成是ほと右の
五尺なわの坪内引残て四拾七坪五分五り余有
是を又弐百下二坪七分七り七毛六糸にてわる

また、4尺5寸を丸木（円）の計算法3.16で割ると、1尺4寸2分4厘となる。これを左右（そろばんの左右）に置いて掛けると、202坪7分7厘7毛6糸となる。これだけ右の5尺縄の坪から内引きして残りは47坪5分5厘余りがある。これをまた202坪7分7厘7毛6糸で割ると、2割3分4厘5毛と知るべし。
┃竹一束とは、周囲1尺8寸あるものをいう。この内（周囲が）1寸不足するとき、何割足りないかと問うとき：
1尺8寸縄で1寸不足のときは、
○1割1分1厘の不足なり。

1尺8寸縄のうち2寸不足のときは、
○2割6分5厘6毛の不足なり。
1尺8寸縄のうち3寸不足のときは、
○4割4分の不足なるべし。
右の1尺8寸縄に対して1寸太いとき、何割太いかと問うとき：
1尺9寸縄では、1尺8寸縄より
○1割1分4厘2毛太いという。

Next, divide 4 shaku 5 sun by the circular (maru-ki) calculation value 3.16 to obtain 1 shaku 4 sun 2 bu 4 rin. Place this on both sides (of the abacus) and multiply to get 202 tsubo 7 bu 7 rin 7 mō 6 shi. Subtract this amount from the area of the 5-shaku rope by inward deduction (*uchibiki*), leaving a remainder of 47 tsubo 5 bu 5 rin and some. Divide this again by 202 tsubo 7 bu 7 rin 7 mō 6 shi, and one should know the answer to be 2 wari 3 bu 4 rin 5 mō.
┃ A bundle of bamboo (*take hitotaba*) is defined as having a circumference of 1 shaku 8 sun. When the circumference is short by 1 sun, and one asks by how many parts (*wari*) it falls short:
For a rope of 1 shaku 8 sun that is short by 1 sun:
○The shortage is 1 wari 1 bu 1 rin.
