侍二人、草履取り一人を連れ、雨天の節は
傘持ち一人を召し連れる。冠木御門より内は
刀持ち一人、雨天の節は手傘を
用いること。一万石以下は下乗より内へ
侍一人、草履取り一人を召し連れる。
その間前冠木御門より内は刀持ち
一人、雨天の節は手傘を用いること
一 万石以上・以下ともに挟箱は下乗橋内へ
一切入れてはならないこと
ただし部屋を持つ面々は挟箱を内へ
入れること
一 中之口から登城する面々は草履取り
英語訳
[They may bring] two samurai retainers and one sandal keeper, and during rainy weather, one umbrella bearer. Inside the Kabuki Gate, one sword bearer, and during rainy weather, a hand umbrella shall be used. Those with domains below ten thousand koku may bring one samurai retainer and one sandal keeper from the dismounting area into the castle. From in front of that area to inside the Kabuki Gate, one sword bearer, and during rainy weather, a hand umbrella shall be used.
1. Both those with domains above and below ten thousand koku must not bring document boxes (hasamibako) inside the dismounting bridge area at all.
However, those who have [official] rooms may bring document boxes inside.
