Note: Regarding the inquiry document [伺書] for gifts to be presented to the Dainagon-sama, [the items are as follows:] thirty bundles of cotton at the time of sankin (proceeding to Edo), ten bundles of hōsho paper upon returning to the domain; there are no congratulatory gifts for the New Year's first utai recitation [utaisome]. With only these exceptions, the remainder follows the same practice as for the Main Keep [Honmaru, i.e., the Shogun], and is therefore omitted here.
