一、四月七日、若年寄・堀田加賀守（正陳）殿へお会いになり、御勤めを果たされた。
一、同日、今度・難波中納言（宗■）殿の御下向につき御附届の儀、かつまた葉室前大納言（頼胤）殿の御下向につき本多内蔵助（富紹）対面の儀、両様の御口上書を、御用番・酒井雅楽頭（忠恭）殿へ、御留守居・津田九右衛門（盛恕）をもって、左の通り差し出された。
口上覚
今度、難波中納言が御下向とのこと、枢機に御座候。この度、対面申したき旨、申し来たり候えども、続き遠く御座候につき、断り申し達し候。しかしながら、使者をもって音物を致す儀は、前々より致し来たり候間、この度も使者・音物等を旅宿へ差し越し申したく存じ候。この段、御差図なされ下さるべく候。以上。

葉室前大納言殿の儀は、私家来・本多内蔵助の母方の叔父にて御座候。この節、内蔵助の儀、御当地へ出府仕り、罷り在り候につき、大納言殿御下向逗留中、内蔵助が参上・対面を仕りたく存じ奉り候。もっとも、大納言殿よりも、この度対面有り度き旨、御座候。右の趣、宜しく御差図を願い奉り候。以上。

Item: On the seventh day of the fourth month, [the lord] met with the Junior Councillor (wakadoshiyori), Lord Hotta Kaga-no-kami (Masanobu/Masanori), and fulfilled his official duties.
Item: On the same day, regarding two matters — first, the matter of sending a gift (o-todoke) on the occasion of Lord Naniwa Chūnagon (Sō-■)'s travel down to Edo, and second, the matter of Lord Honda Kura-no-suke (Tomitsugu)'s meeting with Lord Hamuro, the former Middle Counselor (Yoritsugu), on the occasion of the latter's travel down to Edo — a written oral communication covering both matters was submitted to the Duty Councillor, Lord Sakai Uta-no-kami (Tadayuki), through the residential representative, Tsuda Kuemon (Morihiro), as follows:
Memorandum of Oral Communication
I understand that Lord Naniwa Chūnagon is traveling down to Edo on this occasion; this is a matter of some delicacy [i.e., involving confidential or sensitive circumstances]. Although a request has come [from him] expressing a wish to meet on this occasion, the connection [between us] is distant, and so I have conveyed my regrets [declining a meeting]. However, as it has been the custom from prior times to send a messenger with a gift, I wish to dispatch a messenger with gifts to his lodgings on this occasion as well. I humbly request your guidance on this matter. Respectfully submitted.
Seventh day of the fourth month Matsudaira Hyōbu-no-taifu
Regarding Lord Hamuro, the former Middle Counselor (Yoritsugu): he is the maternal uncle of my retainer Honda Kura-no-suke. At this time, Kura-no-suke is present here in Edo [the capital], and therefore, during the period of Lord Dainagon's stay following his arrival, I wish to have Kura-no-suke call upon and meet with him. Moreover, Lord Dainagon himself has also expressed a wish to meet on this occasion. I humbly request your guidance regarding the above matter. Respectfully submitted.
