明十八日、家来一人御目見を仰せ付けられ候間、召し連れ罷り出るべく候。この節、本多内蔵助参府につき、例として召し連れ候家来は差し止め、内蔵助を召し連れ罷り出るべく候。
一、四月十七日、本多内蔵助（富紹）、明日登城の節、献上物の儀につき、御用番・酒井雅楽頭（忠恭）殿、西丸御老中・西尾隠岐守（忠尚）殿へ、御使者・御留守居・朝井源左衛門（政之）をもって御伺いなされたところ、御伺いの通りになされるべき旨、御差図があった。
但し、右の御伺書は三月十六日に差し出されたものと同様につき、記さず。
一、同月十八日、御登城の上、御暇の御礼を仰せ上げられ、例の通り御鷹・御馬を御拝領された。畢（おわ）って、召し連れられた御家来・本多内蔵助（富紹）（熨斗目・長袴着用）が御目見を仰せ付けられた。
これが相済み、檜の間にて御用番・酒井雅楽頭（忠恭）殿が出座され、御巻物をもって御巻拝領を仰せ付けられる旨を申し聞けられた。御品は御奏者番より相渡された。これが相済み、西丸へ御登城された。

On tomorrow, the eighteenth, as one retainer is to be granted an audience (o-mie), you should bring [that person] along when you come. On this occasion, as Honda Kuranosuke is present in Edo for his attendance (sanfu), the retainer customarily brought [for such occasions] is to be stood down; instead, Kuranosuke is to be brought along when you come.
Item: On the seventeenth day of the fourth month, Honda Kuranosuke (Tominori), regarding the matter of tribute offerings (kenjōmono) at the time of tomorrow's ascent to the castle, made an inquiry through the messenger and resident representative (o-rusui) Asai Genzaemon (Masayuki) to the Duty Councillor, Lord Sakai Uta-no-kami (Tadayuki), and to the Nishi-no-maru Senior Councillor, Lord Nishio Oki-no-kami (Tadanao), and received instruction that proceedings should go ahead as inquired.
Note: As the above letter of inquiry is the same as that submitted on the sixteenth day of the third month, it is not recorded here.
Item: On the eighteenth day of the same month, [the lord] ascended to the castle and presented his thanks for the leave of absence (o-itoma), and received, as customary, a hawk and a horse as gifts. Following this, the accompanying retainer Honda Kuranosuke (Tominori), dressed in noshime robes and long ceremonial hakama (nagabakama), was granted an audience (o-mie).
Once this was concluded, in the Hinoki-no-ma (Hall of Cypress), the Duty Councillor Lord Sakai Uta-no-kami (Tadayuki) appeared in person and informed [the lord] that he was granted a rolled gift (maki-haiyō) by way of a scroll (o-makimono). The gift items were conveyed by the Sōja-ban (Master of Ceremonies). Once this was completed, [the lord] ascended to the Nishi-no-maru (Western Citadel).
