一、四月二十一日、烏丸前大納言(光栄)殿が御下向になるにつき、御旅宿へ御見舞いのため御出向きになり、御対顔なされた。
但し、御持参の趣にて、御先へ御太刀・金子(馬代)を使者をもって遣わされた。
一、同月二十二日、本多内蔵助(富紹)が東叡山ならびに増上寺へ参詣いたしたく願い出たにつき、御用番・酒井雅楽頭(忠恭)殿へ御使者・御留守居をもって、左の通り御伺書を差し出された。

Memorandum (Kōjō Oboegaki)
On this occasion, having been granted leave to return to the home domain, upon our arrival and at the time of dispatching a messenger of thanks, we wish to also present tribute offerings to the Ōgosho-sama. We intend to offer two varieties [of items] in one set (ikka). We humbly inquire regarding this matter and respectfully request your guidance. The above is submitted.
Matsudaira Hyōbu-no-taifu
Item: On the twenty-first day of the fourth month, as Karasuma Former-Dainagon (Mitsuteru) was making his journey down [from Kyoto], [the lord] went to his lodgings to pay a visit of greeting and met with him in person.
Note: In the manner of having [gifts] brought along in advance, a sword and gold (in lieu of a horse) were sent ahead via a messenger.
Item: On the twenty-second day of the same month, Honda Kuranosuke (Tomitsugu) having expressed a wish to make pilgrimages to Tōei-zan (Kan'ei-ji) and Zōjō-ji, an inquiry letter (o-ukagai-sho) of the following content was submitted on his behalf to the Duty Councillor Lord Sakai Uta-no-kami (Tadayuki), via a messenger and the resident representative:

My retainer Honda Kuranosuke wishes, following established precedent, to pay his respects at the shrine (o-miya) and all mausolea (sō-o-tamaya) of Tōei-zan, and at the general mausolea (sō-o-tamaya) of Zōjō-ji. His grandfather Magotarō also wishes to pay his respects. Furthermore, he intends to offer a sword and gold (in lieu of a horse) to the shrine, and silver to the mausolea.
